The Crock Pot Project
Nothing combats the cold of winter like a hot, nutritious meal at the end of a long day!
But many families in our community lack the time, tools and resources to provide hot, home-cooked meals. You can provide a family with the ability to create nutritious, homemade meals year-round through the Crock Pot Project.
Over 22% of Pierce County children are at risk of food insecurity.
That equates to nearly 50,000 kids in need!
Too many of our families struggle with choosing between the high costs of housing, transportation, utilities, child care, health care or food. The children often rely on free school breakfast and lunch for foundational nutrition, but on weekend and during school breaks this option isn't available. Winter break is the longest break of the school year, but you can help feed these children and their families in a sustainable way this holiday season through our Power Packs Crock Pot Project.
There are several ways to participate:
-
Hold a Crock Pot donation drive
-
Give a cash donation to help buy Crock Pots and soup fixings (100% of cash donations raised go to supporting this effort)
-
Build soup kits for the Crock Pots using one of our DIY Soup Kits:
