Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet the human needs in His name without discrimination. Established in 1892, The Salvation Army Puyallup Valley helps those with nowhere else to turn in our community. The Puyallup Valley Corps is known for engaging with the senior citizen community through structured activities, providing food, and aiding in utility assistance to those in need of assistance. Through our food bank, senior center, emergency disaster services, and youth programs more than 40,000 people are served each year. Food Bank: a client-choice pantry where more than 12,000 families each year are able to select needed food items. Senior Center: Our goal is to help seniors decrease isolation and maintain health and wellness by providing social, recreational, and educational opportunities Open 5 days a week, activities include crafting, Bingo, Bible Study, exercise classes, and more Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) a fully stocked canteen (food truck) is ready to deploy to assist in a wide range of incidents providing food, beverages, emotional and spiritual care, and a multitude of other services in partnership with community partners. Pathway of Hope The Salvation Army’s Pathway of Hope provides individualized services for families with children who desire to break the cycle of crisis and vulnerability that repeats generation after generation through wrap-around services.
