The Eatonville Family Agency’s (EFA) Food and Resources Program provides assistance and social services to those in our community who are most in need to reduce the impact of poverty. We operate an efficient food bank, we provide food for children in grades K – 12 through our Feed The Children program, we make sure that our clients have sufficient and nutritious food during the holidays, we offer cooking class to clients so they can learn how to purchase & prepare the food they receive in their food baskets, and we enroll clients and help them receive their Basic Food benefits through DSHS. While making sure those who are hungry have the food they need is a crucial element of our operation, it is not the only service we provide. We address poverty in many ways, including operating a clothing bank with a focus on warm coats and essentials, distributing household essentials like blankets, diapers, baby formula, and personal care items. With no shelters in our rural area, we assist our homeless clients by providing tents, tarps, sleeping bags, we have a shower in our facility for their use. We offer a domestic violence hotline and advocacy. We have a variety of programs in place for our seniors including health screenings, Medicare assistance, social activities, and transportation services. Additionally, there are many other services and referrals we provide that include everything from providing school supplies to offering resume writing and job skills classes to conducting parenting classes to holding free community dinners to providing holiday gift giving programs. Our goal is to offer services to reduce the stress of poverty in their life in order for them to be able to focus on self-sufficiency.
To continue to give back to our community, and to forward our goal in become a self sufficient organization, we have opened a local thrift store called Center Street Junction. volunteers are greatly needed to help this endeavor become a success. M-Sat 9am-6pm.
