Providence Health & Services

Providence Health International provides opportunities to learn, serve, and contribute internationally and locally – leveraging the resources and talents of our health care organization to improve and promote global health. Compassionate service to all has been a part of the Providence Mission since the Sisters of Providence began their work in Montreal nearly 160 years ago. Our main focus includes: •Collecting and shipping medical supply donations internationally and locally. •Supporting Providence employees on medical service trips with needed medical supplies and equipment. •Working to create sustainable change for those who are poor and vulnerable in Guatemala. •Coordinating response in times of natural disasters.
Each year, U.S. health care facilities throw away thousands of tons of unused or recyclable medical products and equipment. Providence is helping to turn a problem of waste versus need into a solution of health care resources for economically developing countries. Our Providence medical supply warehouse recovers and donates about 20 tons of supplies to more than 25 countries in need every year. We have designed an experience where volunteers could be a part of the impact happening around the world. By volunteering at our Medical Supply Warehouse you can help sort, package or load products for shipment. You can volunteer at our warehouse Monday – Friday and Saturdays. Our warehouse can accommodate groups of up to 20 volunteers at a time. Most volunteer shifts are 3 hours long; however, we will work with volunteers to determine the best shift length for them.
