One in four Pierce County students is not reading at grade level and could greatly benefit from the help of a volunteer reading and/or math coach. In Pierce County, there exists a gap in the number of available volunteers to help students with reading and math. Currently, two-thirds of students who need tutoring support do not get help.
United Way of Pierce County is hosting our TUTOR SHOWCASE event designed to provide potential volunteers with the opportunity to meet with representatives from a number of tutoring/coaching programs one-on-one, in a casual environment, to find a program that would be a good fit for them.
Will you join us for this event and help change the story for a child who needs help with reading and/or math?
