In Pierce County, 2 in 5 children are not ready for school when they start kindergarten. Help change the story for these kids! Volunteer to read with a small group of pre-K children in a home-based or smaller child care center as a Launch Into Literacy (LIL) Readers volunteer. You do not have to be an education professional or experienced reader/tutor, because training and ongoing support is provided! Commitment is one hour every other week; story time sessions are typically mid-morning.
