The PORT is Tacoma Coffee Oasis's Drop-in Center. We aim to support teens and young adults that are expeinceing homelessness or are at risk for it. We provide many recourse that are not limited to; showers, laundry, food, case management, life skills classes and more.
We are looking for volunteers to spend 3 hours shifts in the drop in we ask for at least once a month. When volunteering you may be keeping the shower system moving, helping people get food or hygiene items, you may be teaching someone how to do their own laundry, you may also be playing games and laughing with youth and you may help supporting a teen on a really tough day. We ask for our volunteers to be respectful of all people, want to serve and support and be willing to create strong healthy relationships with our youth and young adults.
All volunteers for The PORT must ...
- Be over the age of 21
- Complete 8 hours of online training
- Pass a WSP background check
