Emergency Food Network’s Mother Earth Farm is an 8-acre organic farm providing fresh fruit, veggies, and honey to Pierce County food banks and meal sites. Food harvested at the farm often arrives at emergency feeding sites within hours of harvest.
Youth ages 6-15 are invited to participate in a half-day outdoor classroom experience to learn about the day-to-day activities that take place at the farm. There will be a taste-test tour and a scavenger hunt. Youths will also have the opportunity to be a volunteer at the farm by pulling those nasty weeds! This is a great family and youth group opportunity. Youths must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Due to limited space, registration is required.
Two Youth Days will be offered this summer (one on June 25 and another on August 26)
