Description

Note: This year’s Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, scheduled for Saturday, May 9, has been postponed to promote the safety of our mail carriers and community.

Stay tuned for information on a new date!

Each May for Hunger Awareness Month, our postal workers make a huge effot relieve Pierce County Hunger. You may have seen the bags that get delivered to your mail box. These are later picked up full of food that adds up to more than 200,000 pounds, or 160,000 meals for neighbors experiencing hunger!

Volunteers are crucial to the success of this one-day drive. We need both driving teams and unloaders at almost every post office in Pierce County. Driving teams are pairs of people (one driver, one loader) who will take on a mail carriers route to pick up food left by mailboxes and bring it back to the post office. Unloading volunteers will be posted at the post office to unload mail trucks and driver team vehicles into our EFN trailer.

Check our volunteer page to see if help is needed at your local post office!
