Description

First Creek is a stream that runs through a beautiful greenspace in Tacoma’s Eastside. It needs your help – invasive plants are threatening the ecological and community benefits it provides. Come volunteer to restore this urban oasis! We will be removing English ivy, Himalayan blackberry, and other invasive plants while enjoying the greenery and wildlife around us.

Where to meet: 48TH East E Street, Tacoma, WA 98404. This is the back parking area for Swan Creek Park, near First Creek Elementary School (look for the Green Tacoma signs) [map]

What to bring: Tools, gloves, and instruction will be provided. Please bring a water bottle and clothes/shoes you don’t mind getting dirty (long pants and long sleeves are best).
