Camp Counselor Volunteer
REACH Ministries is seeking caring and energetic volunteers to serve as Camp Counselors during our REACH Labor Day Getaway.
Camp Counselors help create a fun, safe, and supportive environment for children attending the Getaway. Counselors are paired in teams of two and are assigned a small group of approximately 3–4 children for the weekend.
Counselors guide children through the daily schedule, activities, meals, and transitions while helping build friendships, confidence, and connection throughout the weekend.
Families stay together in their own lodging accommodations, while volunteers stay in volunteer housing areas.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support a small group of children throughout the day
- Guide children through scheduled activities and events
- Help children feel included, safe, and engaged
- Assist with transitions between buildings and activities
- Encourage positive friendships and participation
- Coordinate with parents when children would like to return to family activities or personal time
- Support children during both family activities and child-only activities throughout the weekend
Counselors are actively involved with their group beginning after breakfast through the evening social activities each day.
Requirements
- Must be 18+
- Enjoy working with children and families
- Volunteer application and screening required
- TB test required
- Volunteer training required
