Calling all Volunteers!
Without people like you, community festivals like The Great Peninsula Cider Festival, commonly known as the CIDER SWIG, could not happen.
Volunteers are needed for event set-up/tear-down, ticketing, assisting vendors, parking, helping in the cider garden and cider retail sales, assisting with the Apple Carnivàle games, manning the volunteer/information tent, grounds maintenance, and other duties.
All volunteers who work a minimum 3-hour shift receive a reduced festival admission ($18), free festival T-shirt, volunteer swag bag, festival tasting glass, $10 meal voucher. . . and have a great time making a difference!
There will be a mandatory volunteer orientation and training for all leaders, coordinators and those working in the cider garden, cider retail sales, and ticket sales areas on Wednesday, September 25 at 5:30 pm. This meeting will be at the Greater Gig Harbor Foundation offices at 7191 Wagner Way, Suite 102, Gig Harbor, WA, 98335. Those working other festival areas are encouraged to attend but are not required. If not working one of the areas requiring training, please check in at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled shift to sign in and pick up your T-shirt - your uniform for the day.
What is the CIDER SWIG?
Dozens of Northwest cider-makers will present more than 100 fine ciders to the growing community of cider lovers – and the cider curious alike. Live music and entertainment on two stages, awesome eats, apple launching, Battle of the Pies - apple pie contest, games, clowns, vendors, and activities in the Apple Carnivàle, the Kids Applet Drop-off, and more will assure a great day for the entire family!
Proceeds support environmental education, watershed health, conservation and related works throughout the Gig Harbor and Key Peninsulas through the Lu Winsor Memorial Environmental Grant program and other community programs.
This year, the CIDER SWIG will be held on Saturday, September 28 from 12 to pm. Hope to see you there!
