Volunteer: Reading Buddies at Fern Hill Elementary!

Be a Reading Buddy for a Child In Need!

Help a student in grade 1-3 who is struggling in reading by being their reading buddy. You'll be matched one-on-one with the student to help them stay focused, sound out words, and get them reading more fluently.

No special skills are required, just the ability to read and give your time for one hour, once per week.

The after-school program takes place every Tues. & Thur. from 4:00 - 5:15 pm, with during-school tutoring now available for those with a more flexible schedule.

Due to Governor Inslee's amended proclamation 21-14.1, all District employees, including on-site volunteers and contractors are required to be fully vaccinated by October 18. Volunteers will be required to submit proof of vaccination or request an exemption along with your volunteer application form.

Schools are also implementing a number of other COVID-19 safety measures to protect students, employees, and volunteers. Masks are required to be worn in the building at all times. Social distancing of 3 feet is also currently in effect.
