Volunteers in the administrative stream of our Volunteer Program assist management/administrative staff in daily administration of the organization (i.e. office work). Volunteers act as assistants to whichever staff member they are assigned to and help them complete whatever tasks required. Tasks will range from filing paperwork, to taking part in the development of processes and systems.

AHAT is seeking committed volunteers to spend time with our amazing residents. Do you have a few extra hours in your week? We need you! The responsibilities of the volunteers in each of these shifts vary, depending on the time of day, as well as the health of the residents living at the house. Opportunities vary from cooking, landscaping, or just being a basic companion.

As a Companion, you will assist our Activities Coordinator by leading and participating in recreational activities with residents. Activities such as games, crafts, parties, movies, field trips. Requirements

Must pass a DSHS/State background check. Drivers license and insurance is helpful Prefer someone over the age of 18 but will interview older teens in high school still that have good references.

The Volunteer Cook will be responsible for: Typical Examples of Work:
Three Cedars is currently looking for a qualified Volunteer Cook to join our residential team!  Performs food preparation tasks as assigned by the Cook Manager. Preparing meals according to the posted menus, using the correct food, quantity and recipes to prepare the meal(s), maintain all safety standards, food handling health standards, and all local, county, and state health requirements. Salad preparation. Dessert preparation. Vegetable preparation.                    Washing equipment needed for meal preparation. Dishwashing  after meals. General cleaning tasks needed to keep the equipment, work areas and kitchen clean and neat.

Volunteer Landscaper responsibilities will include:

Helping to mow the Facilities yard grass Edge the grass around driveway areas Spruce up landscaping by removing debris and trash. Planting new plants on the ground and/or pots * Spread new mulch in specific areas. Trimming of bushes at the end of a growing season. Removal of weeds in flower beds.

Skills Requirements * Must be 18 years of age or older. * Able to lift, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time. * An ability to relate in a nonjudgmental manner with individuals and groups within a wide range of problem areas. * Be able to operate a lawn mower, weed eater, and all other yard tools. * An ability to handle emergency situations. * An ability to maintain confidentiality. * An ability to work without direct supervision and complete task in an efficient manner.
