Puyallup Food Bank

At the Puyallup Food Bank we are passionate about meeting the urgent needs of our neighbors and partnering to assist them, believing food is the first step on their journey to a more hopeful future! We strive to provide food to those in need with dignity and and grace, and to utilize food surpluses eliminating waste. As a distribution center, we save countless dollars for other food banks, nonprofits and charitable agencies by providing an efficient and centralized location for collecting and distributing food.
The Puyallup Food Bank exists to provide relief, serve generously and give hope to our neighbors. We believe these are intrinsic to being human and living in community. We invite partnership in our work with gratitude for what God has given us, as a way to give a hand up and to inspire future generations. As one of Pierce County’s oldest food banks, we have been helping our neighbors in need since 1972.
Not only do we serve fresh produce, meat, dairy, canned and frozen items directly to families every week, but we are also a food distribution hub for over 30 community partners and food pantries across Pierce County. Organizations like Salvation Army, Angel One, New Hope Resource Center, Edgewood Food Bank, and many others rely on us for the food they need to serve their people.
Our eight staff and 100+ volunteers serve generously to ensure our clients get the help that really helps. Our promise to our volunteers is to provide a place where they can serve, love, and give to their neighbors as part of a community of hope. We are instituting new systems to track the true impact of our work. And we are rediscovering our roots as a holistic service organization, helping people with more than just their hunger. In addition to encouragement and human connection, our navigation and partnership program helps clients connect to other community agencies for help with housing, employment, transportation and more.
