Believe in Me is a Washington-based nonprofit organization committed to helping underserved and marginalized children develop the self-confidence they need to succeed. Since 2006, we have supported young people facing barriers such as poverty, homelessness, foster care involvement, family instability, limited access to education, and a lack of safe, supportive opportunities. Our work is guided by five Pillars of Caring: a safe place to call home, a family that loves them, a feeling of community, opportunities to learn, and opportunities to build self-esteem and have fun. We believe every child deserves to feel valued, supported, and capable of creating a positive future.

Believe in Me invests in practical, community-based solutions that help children and young adults overcome barriers and pursue meaningful opportunities. We provide scholarships for college, trade school, career training, and other post-secondary pathways; fund and partner with nonprofit organizations serving youth; and support programs focused on transitional living, foster care and adoption, wraparound services, education, mentoring, and enrichment. We also bring businesses, volunteers, donors, and community leaders together through events such as the Marcus Trufant Believe in Me Charity Golf Tournament, which raises funds for the Trufant Family Scholarship Fund. Through these partnerships, we help young people gain access to the resources, relationships, experiences, and encouragement they need to thrive.
