Job Carr Cabin Museum

Job Carr Cabin Museum Through diverse perspectives and interactive experiences, the Museum uses Job Carr's story to open the door to Tacoma's history for students and our community.
The Job Carr Cabin Museum is a replica of Tacoma's first permanent non-Native residence. Job Carr, a founding father of Tacoma, arrived in the region over 150 years ago. This replica Cabin Museum is a cherished community resource. It was built in 2000 about a block away from the original site of Job's frontier home.
Job Carr Cabin Museum offers family-friendly events and educational programs.
If you've never visited the Cabin, we invite you to step inside and step back in time. The Cabin is a "pay as you can" museum; there is no admission cost. Donations make it possible to provide our programs to anyone who wants to learn about Tacoma's unique history.
