Summer break is quickly approaching, and for many children that means lots of summer activities and camps! But for low-income children, it can mean losing over two months of learning over the summer because they don’t have access to enrichment activities and books.
Help us STOP the “Summer Slide” by volunteering for United Way of Pierce County’s Summer Learning Day event.
Volunteers are needed at summer meal sites around the county to help give out FREE books to children with limited access to books over the summer months. Volunteers help children select books and read with children.
Must be 14 or older to volunteer.
