CIS of Tacoma supports student success at Oakland High School by providing academic success coaching. High school students in need of academic support in Math are matched with academic success coaches to help them focus on their work and complete assignments.
Students who fall behind in school are more at risk of dropping out. This is particularly critical in high school as students approach graduation. By tutoring a student in these critical subjects and helping them catch up, you are putting that student on the path to graduation and success in life.

Due to Governor Inslee's amended proclamation 21-14.1, all District employees, including on-site volunteers and contractors are required to be fully vaccinated by October 18. Volunteers will be required to submit proof of vaccination or request an exemption along with your volunteer application form.
Schools are also implementing a number of other COVID-19 safety measures to protect students, employees, and volunteers. Masks are required to be worn in the building at all times. Social distancing of 3 feet is also currently in effect.
