Volunteers will work one-on-one with children, as well as, in groups depending on the activity and level of need with tutoring. During these sessions, volunteers will be reading with the child(ren) and assist with fluency and comprehension skills as well as assist the child(ren) on their homework if needed. We will provide reading-level appropriate books and material for activities and/or games that volunteers wish to do. This will be a direct, in-person service.
Volunteer hours will be before and/or after school, from 7:00am to 8:00am and 4:00pm to 5:00pm. Hours will change when students are on break.
There will be further instructions and guidelines provided once the volunteer is accepted. Volunteers will also go through orientation/training once a volunteer.
