Volunteer Opportunity:

Time Commitment: 2–4 hours (flexible shifts available)
Opportunity Overview: Cougs 4 Kids is seeking volunteers to help assemble MentorBoost Kits for youth participating in Camp Coug (April 1–2). This hands-on volunteer experience brings the community together to prepare meaningful care packages filled with encouragement, practical items, and resources that support youth as they explore leadership, education, and future opportunities. Camp Coug is a collaborative initiative with Communities in Schools of Northeast WA and Washington State University, designed to foster belonging, mentorship, and confidence in young people.
- Volunteer Responsibilities:
- Assemble MentorBoost Kits using provided materials
- Organize, sort, and package supplies
- Write optional encouragement notes to students
- Assist with light setup and cleanup
- Work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Who Should Volunteer:
- Individuals, families, students, and community groups
- Washington State University alumni (encouraged, but not required)
- Corporate and civic teams looking for a meaningful group activity
- No prior experience is needed—just a willingness to help and a positive attitude.
Impact: Volunteers will directly support youth who benefit from additional encouragement, mentorship, and access to opportunities. Each kit assembled represents a tangible investment in a young person’s confidence, sense of belonging, and future success.
