We are seeking part-time college or university interns to help us bring Tacoma history to life.
Internship projects are available in several subject areas - museum studies, history, education, marketing, social media and technology.
Possibilities include:
*Assisting us as we prepare to celebrate the museum's 25th Anniversary
*Historical research for publication and museum exhibit development
*Oral History collection of people from Old Town to be stored and prepared for public display.
*Digitize and organize artifacts and for online storage and exhibits.
*Create a social media plan and help us implement effective social media strategies.
Internship dates are flexible, depending on your class schedule and availability. Internships are project-based and are generally 5-15 hours per week. Days and hours are flexible.
We welcome volunteers of all ages, interests and skill levels. Mentorship and training provided. School credit available. Internships are designed for college and university students. High school students are also welcome to volunteer with the museum. All volunteers must successfully pass a security background check.
The museum is open Fridays and Saturdays in Old Town, Tacoma. Seeing the Museum in-person is the best way learn about our organization. You can stop by anytime during the Cabin’s open hours to speak with our team.
